The Brassicas are growing great here on the farm. Very little aphids, or the dreaded Bragada bug have shown up to eat our crops. I blame this phenomenon on the simple practices of using absolutely no pesticides, strict organic farming, growing host plants to attract beneficial insects and realizing some crops will get eaten by bugs; I just plant more so they get a meal as well.
The Kale and Kohlrabi are thriving! I love their purple stems and delicious leafy greens. I have also learned their is a multitude of ways to prepare them, from crispy Kale chips drizzled in olive oil to a savory ingredient in a hearty bean soup.
