Snow hardy tomatoes and apples?

It wasn’t that long ago I was blogging about the freakish snowstorm that hit Southern California in late February.  I gambled this year with getting warm season crops in the ground in mid-February and it looks as if it has paid off.  Here are some before and after pictures of the heirloom tomatoes “Mortgage Lifter” and apple trees during the snowstorm and their current status in the garden.  The jury was out for awhile if the tomatoes would indeed survive and if the apples would be able to set fruit.  The proof is in the pictures:

  1. You had me worried because we just got a very late snow storm here in Michigan. I was worried that you actually got some snow in California as well!
