Well the long awaited day is here, the first tomato transplants are going into the ground and it is still February.
February? Sure doesn’t feel like it here.
I planted a variety known as “Stupice” which is an old world variety from Czechoslovakia. Known for not only being cold tolerant, but also heat tolerant as well. Heat tolerance is going to be a common theme here this year, having seen too many tomato plants burnt to a crisp under our hot summer sun.
Here is what it is supposed to look like, a small 2″ in diameter fruit.
